The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso East, Baba Jamal, has paid a courtesy call on the Nii Odoi Kwao Family at Osu Anumansa, recognized as the landowners of Nima and its surrounding communities.

The visit was to express gratitude for the family’s support during the recently concluded Ayawaso East by-election and to seek collaboration in addressing key challenges confronting Nima and the wider constituency.

Addressing the family, Baba Jamal thanked them for the role they played in his victory, describing their support as instrumental to his election into office.

“I am pleased to visit your family house today to pay a courtesy call on you and to express my sincere appreciation for the important role you played during the recently concluded Ayawaso East by-election, which led to my election into office,” he said.

He commended the family for their leadership and commitment to the welfare of the people, noting that their contribution would be remembered in history.

“You demonstrated true leadership and kindness, and history will remember you as chiefs who always seek the welfare of your people,” he stated.

The MP assured the family of his readiness to work closely with them to promote peace and development in the constituency. According to him, his administration would not take sides in disputes but would rather focus on resolving pressing issues through dialogue and cooperation.

“We are here not only to show our respect, but also to assure you that we are ready to work closely with you and the family. We have come so that together with you, we can help resolve the challenges facing Nima and the Ayawaso East Constituency,” he said.

Baba Jamal also highlighted concerns relating to land matters, market construction, and chieftaincy disputes, stressing that such issues require the guidance of traditional leaders.

“Where there is conflict, development cannot thrive. Where there is unrest, peace cannot prevail,” he added.

He further appealed to the family to continue opening their doors to all groups in society, including party members, chiefs, market women, politicians, and the youth, so that unity could be strengthened in the area.

“Our hope and prayer is that you will join hands with us so that together we can develop Ayawaso East, especially Nima, into a community where all of us will be proud and happy to live,” the MP said.

Responding on behalf of the family, the Head of the family, Nii Odoi Kwao II, warmly welcomed the MP and described him as a blessing to the constituency.

“We are deeply honoured to receive the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Honourable Baba Jamal,” he said. “You have come home, and under your leadership, Nima will make significant progress.”

He praised the MP’s experience and leadership qualities, saying Ayawaso East was now in safe hands.

He also expressed confidence that Baba Jamal could serve the constituency for many years if he continued to deliver on his mandate.

As part of the visit, the MP presented ten packs of bottled water, five cartons of soft drinks, and an undisclosed amount of money to the Nii Odoi Kwao family.
