'The way we wanted to approach the game didn't go as planned' â?? Prince Owusu laments Kotoko's downfall

Asante Kotoko interim coach Prince Yaw Owusu has admitted that his side's game plan fell apart even before kickoff, following their disappointing loss to Samartex.

Speaking after the match, Owusu revealed that preparations had gone awry from the previous day, making the defeat almost inevitable.

"The way we wanted to approach the game didn't go as planned, so I could see it coming. We tried to prevent it, but we couldn't," he said.

The coach pointed to a breakdown in tactical discipline as a key factor, noting that the players failed to execute the intended strategy on the pitch.

The result is a significant blow to Kotoko's title ambitions, raising fresh concerns about their chances in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign. When asked whether the title race is slipping away, Owusu remained cautious but hopeful.

"It looks like it, but I'm not sure. We will try and fight back."

Kotoko will now be under pressure to respond strongly in their upcoming fixtures as they attempt to keep their hopes alive. The Porcupine Warriors have struggled for consistency this season and face an uphill battle to close the gap on league leaders.
